C3 Soup Group

Healing from Grief and Loss

The name Soup Groups was derived from the book Tear Soup, a recipe for healing after loss. Tear Soup was first published in 1999 with the 5th edition published in 2005 by Grief Watch. This beautiful story was written by Pat Schwiebert and Chuck DeKlyen and illustrated by Taylor Bills.

Loss is defined as losing someone or something significant and meaningful in your life that causes grief. Grief affects us both physically and emotionally. The grieving and healing process is individual and different for everyone yet some of the emotions and experiences are shared by others who are also grieving.

Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one or a beloved pet or a situation like loss of a move, loss of job, home, or a divorce, shared emotions include sadness, loneliness, isolation, confusion, resentment, anger, and frustration.

A grief group can help us connect to others who are likely experiencing similar things. The truth is that no other individual can fix anyone else, however, connecting to others who might be experiencing some of the same things we are, can help us adjust to the changes that our loss has brought to our lives. Your story of loss and the grief is yours and no one else has experienced your exact story. Because of the shared emotions and some experiences, a grief group can help us feel better understood and connected, heard and seen by others who can truly empathize with you.

The Soup Group meets via ZOOM. You can participate from home or work. The time for the group was chosen to make it easier for you to participate.

C3 Mindfulness Group

Practicing Peace, Compassion, and Wisdom

  • Are you experiencing too much conflict within yourself or with others?

  • Are you obsessively thinking about the past or the future?

  • Do you have a habit that you know is not healthy for you?

Healthy and unhealthy habits form when we repeat the same behavior over and over. Muscle strength and development happen over time with regular and consistent exercise.

This mindfulness group is to do three things: 1) guide you through a mindfulness exercise and discussion, 2) teach and build resources for you to practice mindfulness on a daily basis, and

3) help you live out the principals of mindfulness in your home life, work life, and play.

During each mindfulness group meeting, you will be invited to experience new and old mindfulness exercises and resources. These experiences are created to help you develop and strengthen your ability to live more peacefully, compassionately, and wisely on a day to day basis.

The Mindfulness Group meets via ZOOM. The group time was chosen to promote a sense of release and closure from your week while increasing your emotional and mental capacity to be more present during your weekend and as you begin a new week.

Length of time = 1 hour

Cost = $15 each group meeting

Saturdays at 9AM (coffee or tea is encouraged)
